Thermobond HRC is a water based heat reflective coating that can be easily applied to the complete exterior of buildings (Roofs and Walls etc). It is cost effective, attractive, very easy to maintain and environmentally friendly. Shieldcoat’s THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating is available in 4 and 15 litre pails and offers a selection of eight light colours, including Arctic White, to complement your personal aesthetic. Where can THERMOBOND HRC Roofing Paint be applied?

Shieldcoat’s THERMOBOND HRC is a paint designed to reflect heat, hence the ‘HRC’ acronym, which stands for Heat Reflective Coating. Shieldcoat’s THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating can reduce the internal temperature by up to 30%, this will reducing your energy bills by a similar percentage. This innovative THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating by Shieldcoat effectively blocks and redirects solar energy, preventing the transfer of heat from the substrate (such as metal/tile roofs or cement sheet/fibro walls) into the building. THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating heat reflective coating in Arctic White has a high solar reflectance with a rating of 110.5 S.R.I. (Solar Reflective Index).

It depends on the type of roof you have as to the type of sealer that you will require. If you have cement/concrete or a non glazed terracotta tiled roof then you will need Shieldcoat’s SHIELDSEAL W, if you have a factory colour coated steel (Colorbond) roof you will need apply Shieldcoat’s SHIELDSEAL W Plus, for a zinc/aluminium coated steel, galvanised iron or asbestos/fibro roof you will need to apply Shieldcoat’s SHIELDSEAL T or Shieldcoat’s SHIELDSEAL W Plus, this will ensure a proper adhesion and longevity out of your roof coating THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating. Is there warranty with THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating?

Yes, there is a 10 year warranty with THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating if you have it applied by a qualified professional painter.

Yes, after 7 days from applying the last coat of THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating it is safe to collect drinking water.

Yes, you can use a roller to apply THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating, however it is designed to be applied by spray gun, as you get far superior finish due to being able to evenly apply each coat and get good build without getting runs. If you don’t own a spray gun you can either buy one on this website see the ‘Spray Equipment’ category on the left of this page or you can hire them from your local hire company.

Why are the colours of THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating all light colours?

THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating is a reflective coating, for a coating to reflect it needs to be light in colour otherwise the coating will absorb the heat instead of reflect the heat. If it is a darker colour it will counteract the heat reflective additive properties of THERMOBOND Heat Reflective Coating.
